A panel led by Dr. Kim TallBear, the author of Native American DNA Tribal Belonging and the False Promise of Genetic Science, with Kanaka Maoli Scholars and activists Dr. Kahala Johnnson and Dr. Kaimi Watson. This promises to be a lengthy yet important discussion on Self-Indigenization, a term newly coined to describe a phenomenon happening to many indigenous peoples from Turtle Island to Hawai'i - the theft of our indigeneity by settlers.
