The Japanese American Citizens League-Honolulu Chapter commemorates the Day of Remembrance 2012 with "From Honouliuli to Guantanamo...Due Process Under Siege." Featuring an update and a short film on Honouliuli ("The 1800: the Untold Story of Internment in Hawaii"), and a keynote presentation by Neal Katyal (Georgetown University Law School professor and former U.S. Solicitor General). Katyal successfully argued Hamdan v. Rumsfeld before the U.S. Supreme Court challenging military trials at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Station, Cuba.
