German Club - Film Series

March 12, 1:30pm - 3:45pm
Mānoa Campus, Moore Hall 258

This crime thriller, by New German Cinema director Wim Wenders, pays homage to the classic Hollywood noir films, starring Dennis Hopper as Tom Ripley, a criminal who deals, among other things, in forged art. But the film features a German twist: it is set in Hamburg and stars Bruno Ganz as Jonathan Zimmermann, a picture framer. Ripley seeks to enlist the terminally ill Zimmerman to carry out an murder. 125 mins. In German with English sub-titles.
