Education for Sustainability - what, why, how, who

March 12, 5:30pm - 7:30pm
West Oʻahu Campus, E 132

Education FOR sustainability (EfS) is different from education ABOUT sustainability. EfS is a transformative learning process. This interactive, hands-on workshop will introduce participants to the Learning Self which encompasses the knowledge, skills, attitudes and habits of mind that make it possible to live well within the means of nature. This participatory workshop will help educators understand that EfS is not just an add-on to an already full plate, but it is the plate itself.

"A sustainable society is one that is far-seeing enough, flexible enough, and wise enough not to undermine either its physical or its social systems of support.” Donella Meadows
