A 20-something supervising staff member of a residential treatment facility navigates the troubled waters of that world alongside her co-worker and longtime boyfriend.

Born and raised in Maui, Hawaii, Destin Daniel Cretton’s short film, Short Term 12, won the Jury Prize at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. The feature, Short Term 12, from the same subject matter, was awarded an Academy Nicholl Fellowship from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. The film premiered at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival where it won the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award. Destin's feature film debut, I Am Not a Hipster, premiered at Sundance in 2012.
