Summer Surf Celebration Film Fest at Paliku Theatre

Windward Community College will host the first-ever Summer Surf Celebration Film Fest that includes an opening reception, blessing and introduction to the Office of Career and Community Education's new Hawai‘i Ocean Education Academy.

The event’s purpose is to encourage ocean education and learn about opportunities for careers in boating, ocean recreation and safety.

Featuring “A Deeper Shade of Blue” cultural surf film by Jack McCoy, Volcom Stone’s latest film “True to This”.

This event is sponsored by the Office of Career and Community Education at WCC, New World Distribution, Volcom Stone, Chuck Boller (Hawaii International Film Festival), Kū‘au Rescue, Quiksilver, Hawaiian Water Patrol, and He‘eia Pier General Store & Deli.

The WCC Hawai‘i Ocean Education Academy provides education and training in ocean recreation and safety activities that benefit the visitor industries, as well as the ocean recreation communities in Hawai‘i and beyond, by creating dynamic partnerships with community members and ocean industry organizations.
