Ulf Johansson Dahre: Between words and action: Indigenous Peoples, Natural Resources, and the Future of Sustainable Development Ulf Johansson Dahre is an anthropologist and lawyer from University of Lund, Sweden. He has been working in the field of human rights for the last 25 years.
Ashli Akins: Economic, Social, Cultural Rights and Indigenous Peoples: A Case Study of Community-Based International Development among Mosqoy, Peru Ashli Akins is a PhD student from British Columbia, Canada. In 2006, Akins started a charitable organization in the Andean mountains of Peru, which works to combat the adverse effects of tourism and unsustainable development that is encroaching on the indigenous Quechua communities.
Helena Norberg-Hodge: Glocalization: Education for Action Creating a Human Rights-Based Approach to Sustainable Development Author and filmmaker Helena Norberg-Hodge is a pioneer of the ‘new economy’ movement. Through writing and public lectures on three continents, she has been promoting an economics of personal, social and ecological wellbeing for more than thirty years. She is a widely respected analyst of the impact of the global economy on communities, local economies, and personal identity, and is a leading proponent of ‘localization’, or decentralization, as a means of countering those impacts.
