Beyond Bars – The Forgotten Women explores the issue of the incarceration of women in the State of Hawaiʻi by revealing the women behind the stereotypes and exploring their ability to heal themselves and their communities in attempting to give both the women and those who work with them an audience and amplifier for their already powerful voices. Produced by: Raven Mollison (director + camera), Makena Duffy (producer + camera), Maile Duffy (editor + sound + camera), Talissa Wright (editor + camera), Kristina Nardo (producer), and Mayling Chung (filmmaker + mentor).
