Digital Production Blast with Walt Louie
August 15, 9:00am - 4:00pmMānoa Campus, Sakamaki C-104
Produce, Write, Shoot, Edit and Finish in 52 Hours!
This weekend seminar covers all the basics from shooting raw footage, inputting the footage into a computer, learning how to edit that footage, finishing it with as much enhancement of picture, color, and sound as time allows, and then outputting it for projection and web posting.
Bring any video camera you have access to, a few basic cameras are provided for class use. Separate sound recording with microphones and digital recorders are provided, so that the process of syncing picture and sound is covered.
Learn to be efficient with resources and time, and to understand how to create a basic short film story within the limitations of time and equipment. This will be a fun, high pressure, totally guerrilla production experience. No prior experience necessary….only a passion to work hard and learn something new.
Friday night is a planning session for the shoot, limited to 4 hours on Saturday morning, and the rest of the weekend is spent posting and finishing.
Walt Louie has been an editor for over 22 years. He has worked on award-winning shows and documentaries, films, sitcoms, trailers, sports programs, and is currently working as a commercial editor in Los Angeles. He has taught numerous editing classes in LA and Honolulu.
