Breakthrough Innovation Challenge: Registration Deadline

September 13, 2015 - October 2, 2015
Mānoa Campus, Shidler, College of Business

The Breakthrough Innovation Challenge is the University of Hawaii's first challenge of its kind that provides students and faculty with the opportunity to:

Bring attention and recognition to their innovations;

Network with community leaders and others within the University who may be helpful in the further development of the innovation; and

Win cash prizes!

The Challenge is organized into three phases:

PHASE 1. In the qualifying round, challengers submit a 2-minute YouTube video describing their innovation and its market opportunity. The video submissions are viewed and ranked by a preliminary round of judges.

PHASE 2. The best videos are announced. These finalists are paired with a business mentor to prepare them for the live pitch in the final phase. The mentors provide coaching on content and presentation skills. Finalists automatically win $100.

PHASE 3. The finalists present their innovations and its commercial potential to a judging panel and live audience. The presentations are evaluated and the winners are announced immediately.
