At the center of the story is Sangwoo, a seven-year-old boy who is left in a remote village with his grandmother while his mother looks for work. Reared in the city, he finds conflict in the rural environment with his old-fashioned grandmother and believes his mother has abandoned him. Through his grandmother’s endless patience and devotion, he learns to embrace empathy, humility, and the importance of family, becoming a different boy by the time his mother returns for him.
