Urban Resilience: Vulnerability Assessment of Indonesia

December 12, 5:00pm - 6:30pm
Mānoa Campus, Saunders 116

The Department of Urban and Regional Planning (DURP) worked in partnership with the Diponegoro University (UNDIP as a part of the Joint Studio titled Urban Resilience: Vulnerability Assessment of Kemijen, Semarang Indonesia. Semarang was chosen as one of Rockefeller’s 100 Resilient Cities Initiative in 2013.

The Semarang Resilient City Team chose Kemijen, one of the most vulnerable communities in Semarang as the focus of the project. DURP students began doing research on the topic in August and traveled to Semarang Indonesia in October to work with UNDIP students to conduct the vulnerability assessment and propose action steps as a result of their project.

This project was the Fall 2016 Practicum for the Department of Urban & Regional Planning Presentation.
