The Center for Biographical Research presents: / “Barren” / Shawna Yang Ryan, Associate Professor, Department of English, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa / In this presentation, Shawna Yang Ryan extends the conversation from her film "Anatomy," about the Asian American femme body, to the topic of reproduction and American culture's fascination with fertility, from fairy tales to reproductive rights to OctoMom. / Shawna Yang Ryan is an Associate Professor in the UH Mānoa English Department and the author of two novels, Water Ghosts and Green Island. / Cosponsored by Hamilton Library, the Hawaiʻinuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge, the Spark M.
