On May 5, 2025, we hosted a vibrant CIS Homecoming, and it was a full house!
Every seat in Hamilton 3F was filled, and the Zoom session was just as packed with familiar faces. Alumni, current students and faculty came together to reconnect, share memories and celebrate our interdisciplinary ‘ohana.
The day kicked off at 3 p.m. with refreshments and an informal gathering in the LIS Facility, Hamilton Library Basement, followed by a lively CIS Seminar in HL3F and on Zoom. As with all “First Mondays,” we closed out the evening with the tradition of drinks and conversation at Ba-Le (formerly Mānoa Gardens) in Hemenway Hall.
The energy, stories and shared purpose reminded us why this program thrives: through the connections we maintain and the perspectives we continue to exchange across generations of CIS scholars.
A heartfelt thank you to our alumni for sharing such thoughtful insights and advice. We are grateful for your continued connection to CIS and will be spotlighting some of your reflections on our LinkedIn page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/uh-cis-phd/
