Alfonso Yuchengco Passes Away

We at the Center for Philippine Studies commiserate with the family of former Ambassador Alfonso Yuchengco who recently passed away. The news about his death is featured in Rappler .

Mr Alfonso is very dear to us, having been the first donor of a CPS Endowment that has benefited many UH students doing their research.

He is also the man behind the founding of RCBC Bank and related business ventures in the Philippines. His life achievements as a taipan are quite colorful that resembles those successful Chinese-Filipino entrepreneurs like Lucio Tan, John Gokongwei, Henry Sy and many others.

Our condolences to the family!
