Course Description:
Students will learn the basic concepts and skills of interpreting between two languages. Current issues and the principles of interpreting are discussed, and focus is on useful techniques used when simultaneous and consecutive interpreting and sight translating (e.g. concentration and note-taking techniques). This class is a must for those wanting to interpret in conferences, court, or community interpreting. Pre: at least 300-level proficiency in a second language.
