Course Requirements:
Students must attend weekly live online class sessions via Blackboard Weds from 1-2:30pm HST. Students whose local start timezone is earlier then 8am or later then 8pm may contact the instructor for alternative arrangements.
Course Description:
Through this course students will develop an understanding about issues individuals with disabilities, their families, friends, colleagues, and allies encounter in today’s society. This includes information about the lives of individuals with disabilities and perceptions of impairment; policies and legislation; diversity issues; advocacy issues; service provision issues; educational issues; and how these may be seen through the lens of research and active learning.

3. Microphone or other means of participating in live discussion and presenting, or telephone.

Prior to our first scheduled class, go to http://www.blackboard.com/Platforms/Collaborate/Overview.aspx and click “support” to make sure your computer is set up to access ElluminateLive/blackboard.
