Course Description:
Examines the cultural traditions of Hawai‘i that flourished before the abolition of the kapu system in 1819. Covers foundations of the early
society in Hawai‘i that evolved with the arrival of various Polynesian voyagers along with their family traditions, distinct customs, and cultural
practices.

No textbook required.

Students must be familiar with using a computer and have basic Internet skills (browsing, sending e-mail, saving/sending files).
