Course Requirements:
Before the first day of instruction, e-mail your instructor at that you have registered for the course. This is a Distance Education Online Course using UH's Laulima and Pearson's MyMathLab. Students MUST obtain an access code. The code is included in the binder version new textbook at the HCC bookstore. The code may be purchased separately online, which includes an e-book version of the text book. If the student already has MyMathLab access for the textbook, the same user id and password may be used to re-register for this section. DO NOT PURCHASE A USED BOOK! If you do, you will still need to purchase an access code separately. This is a performance based class which you work at your pace. Once you register for the class, you will be allowed to start the course (you don't have to wait until the semester starts.)
Course Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: "C" or higher in MATH 25, OR Placement in MATH 103 or higher
Recommended Prep: Math Prerequisites should be completed within the last two (2) years
Course Description:
An extension of the elementary algebra sequence designed to prepare students for precalculus. Topics include simplification of algebraic and radical expressions, factoring, solution of linear, quadratic, absolute value and literal equations and inequalities, complex numbers, solution of linear and quadratic systems, logarithms and an introduction to functions and their graphs.
