Special Guest Panelist: Prof. Lydia Liu, Columbia University

Lydia Liu is author of the acclaimed book Translingual Practice: Literature, National Culture, Translated Modernity – China 1917-1937 (Stanford University Press, 1995). She is currently the Wun Tsun Tam Professor in the Humanities, and Director of the Institute for Comparative Literature & Society at Columbia University.

Prof. Liu’s visit to UHM is co-sponsored by Phi Beta Kappa, the Honors Program, and East Asian Languages & Literatures.


The talk is open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
