Other Conditions:

  • Appointment to begin Fall 2019, subject to position clearance and availability of funds. Annually renewable contingent upon satisfactory performance, need and availability of funds.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach 24 credits per academic year in Japanese language courses at all levels;
  • Advise undergraduate students;
  • Participate in departmental and university service;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • M.A. in Japanese, foreign language pedagogy, or in a related field from a college of university of recognized standing;
  • High-level proficiency in Japanese and English;
  • Teaching experience at the college level
  • Desirable Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with online courses, ACTFL proficiency standards, and pragmatics-oriented approaches to teaching Japanese as a second/foreign language
