October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (“NDEAM”). NDEAM is an annual awareness campaign established 76 years ago. The purpose of NDEAM is to educate people about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. Throughout the month of October, all ten UH campuses engage in activities that may include education and awareness on disability employment issues and our commitment to the inclusive work culture.
For the year 2021, the theme is “America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion” and in honor of NDEAM, the UH systemwide EEO Offices hosted a webinar series on various civil rights, disability employment, and accessibility-related topics.
