Aloha! The UHM Financial Aid Services is dedicated to making it possible for degree-seeking admitted students to attend UHM regardless of their economic circumstances. Students and families who lack the necessary resources to pay for educational expenses are encouraged to apply for financial aid by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This information is used to determine your financial aid eligibility. Each year we provide scholarships, grants, student employment, and loan opportunities to our students.

Requirements, information, priority deadline, and videos

To be considered for financial aid you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). On the FAFSA, you should list the University of Hawaii at Manoa, school code number 001610, as one of the schools to receive your information. You must complete the FAFSA online at https://studentaid.gov/ external-link icon

Note: If your demographic information (Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Last Name, and/or First Name) is incorrect or blank, your financial aid process may be delayed. Please contact the Admissions Office at (808) 956-8975 to verify/update your demographic information.

Priority Deadline for 2022-2023 FAFSA: February 1, 2022

The February 1st priority date is to ensure that you will be offered financial aid and that this aid will be disbursed by the start of school. Financial Aid Services (FAS) must receive all your required documents by this date in order to complete your file. Your application will not be processed until your file is complete.

Please remember that all financial aid offered is based on eligibility and some aid may be based on availability of funds.

Due to the number of financial aid applicants, if your file is not completed by February 1st, you may not receive your funds before the tuition payment deadline and may need to make tuition payment on your own. In addition, you may also need to pay for other educational expenses (student housing, books, meal plans) on your own.

We will receive your SAR (Student Aid Report) electronically and we will then calculate your financial aid award if you do not have any outstanding requirements (see Applicants Selected for Verification) and have already been admitted to UH Manoa. You can check your financial aid status and award information on MyUH external-link icon.
