(Email sent 6/19/2025 at approximately 6:00pm to ISS International Students)
Aloha International Students,
The U.S. Department of State has announced that visa interviews will be resuming soon, but with increased scrutiny of applicant online activity. It has also been reported that the State Department is considering adding 36 more countries to the recent travel ban. See the links in our most recent website post on Visa Appointments and Travel Restrictions for the details.
If you are able to make a visa interview appointment, it may not be on a reasonable date that would allow you to enter the U.S. and start school on time. In that case, you should continue to check if new and earlier appointment slots open to which you can switch. Sometimes your appointment may also be automatically moved up, so keep track of consular communications.
By August, if your interview is still at an inconvenient time or you have not been able to make one, please contact the ISS Office or set up a remote appointment with an advisor to go over your options.
