On August 6, Hawaii Governor David Ige announced a reinstatement of the inter-island travel quarantine to go into effect on Tuesday, August 11, and continue through 31. This time, it will not apply to neighbor island travelers going to Oahu. Anyone arriving on inter-island flights must undergo a 14-day quarantine. Additionally, Oahu state and city parks and beaches are to be closed, starting midnight Friday, August 7, and extending through at least September 5, according to Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell.
