On August 23, 2021 the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) extended the COVID-19 restrictions that allow entry into the U.S. through land ports of entry along the U.S.-Canada and U.S- Mexico borders for “essential travel” only. The restrictions have been consistently extended on a monthly basis, and will be in effect until 11:5-pm EDT on September 21, 2021.
