J-1 Student Intern Online Check-In and Visa Clearance Reservation

Welcome to the University of Hawaii!

The International Student Services (ISS) Office at UH Manoa is in charge of monitoring your J-1 status. Please complete this form to officially report your arrival in the U.S., and to sign up for a required orientation session, which covers the basic rules of your visa status.

Please have electronic copies of your passport, visa and signed DS-2019 ready for upload. If you do not have electronic copies for upload, you can bring the originals to your visa clearance session.

Required Action:

J-1 Student Interns are required to upload copies of the following items through UH Filedrop to issstaff@hawaii.edu. UH Filedrop is a secure method to transmit documents within the university community. When completing the filedrop form, choose "No login required" for authentication.:

  • Signed DS-2019
  • Valid passport
  • Valid visa

Include in the comments for the FileDrop that you are submitting J-1 Student Intern Documents.
