Updating Information


Step 1: Navigate to https://www.hawaii.edu/its/id/ and click on Manage Username within the navigation bar at the top or under the Managing Your Departmental UH Usernames section header.


Step 2: If you are the owner or an authorized user of a Departmental UH Username, log in with your personal UH username and password.

Note: Do not log in with the Departmental UH Username's credentials.


Step 3: After logging in, you will see a listing of all Departmental UH Usernames you manage. In this example, our Departmental UH Username is 'testdep'. Click on the Departmental UH Username you would like to manage. If you manage many Departmental UH Usernames, use the search box to narrow down your results. The search box accepts asterisks as wildcards (e.g., searching ‘dept*’ will return ‘dept1’, ‘dept2’, etc.).

Note: Managing Departmental UH Usernames is restricted to owners and authorized users. If you do not see the Departmental UH Username you would like to manage listed, you may lack permission to make changes to that account.


Step 4: After selecting a Departmental UH Username to manage, you will see information about the username, such as the display name and a list of all authorized users. The current owner of the Departmental UH Username is adjacent to the selected radio button, while all other authorized users are displayed next to the empty radio buttons. At the bottom of the page, click on Update Username.


Step 5: After clicking Update Username, you can make changes to your Departmental UH Username. Changes to information about the username can be made under the Update Username Information for Username section; the reason for the update can be placed within the Reason for requesting UH Username field.

Possible changes include:

  1. Departmental UH Username (only if the new desired username is valid and available)
  2. Department Name associated with Departmental UH Username
  3. The campus the Departmental UH Username is associated with
  4. The Departmental UH Username's display name

After all desired changes have been made, click Submit Request at the bottom.

Note: Multiple changes can be made before clicking Submit Request.
