They will also participate in the bibliographic instruction program which involves teaching most of the students on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Library\/Collection Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Joseph F. Smith Library supports an undergraduate, library arts university curriculum with special collections in Hawaiiana\/Pacific Islands and Mormonism. The internship area of activity includes reference service and library instruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Required Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>LIS 601: Introduction to Reference &amp; Information Services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Desired Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Desire to serve patrons and help students with information needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to conduct bibliographic instruction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Weekly Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Approximately 10 hours per week. Specific schedule to be determined jointly by the students and reference librarians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Goals and Outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Introduction to and experience with reference services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduction to the concept of an information commons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bibiliographic instruction \u2013 interaction with students and faculty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Evaluation Methods<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Intern will be evaluated in the following areas: willingness to learn, reliability, ability to complete tasks and assignments in an efficient and timely manner, ability to communicate effectively, ability to conduct self in a poised and professional manner.
