Directed by November Morris, Xenophobia: Face Your Fears is a collection of stories and folk tales that address and challenge social prejudices, along with the anxiety and fear that derive from it. Topics such as same sex relationships, bullying, sexual abuse, foreign cultures and medical drug use are brought forth and presented to the audience to help demystify and address some of the misplaced fears that accompany them.
The PlayBuilders Ensemble is a group of socially conscious performers who gather once a week to develop performance pieces while they learn the art of community collaborative theatre under the tutelage of Associate Artistic Director November Morris. Their mission is to help Hawaiʻi’s rich and diverse communities explore and share place, identity, relationships, history and cultures through theatre. PlayBuilders is currently the resident theatre company of The Leeward Theatre.
