Learning about and understanding the various forms of dance practiced by diverse cultures around the world is one of the best ways to gain insight into the values and beliefs systems of its people. The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Outreach College in cooperation with the East-West Center Arts Program provides the opportunity to do so at this year’s Asia Pacific Dance Festival to be held from July 14-27. This year’s theme “Stories,” features performances and forums centered around dance in Hawaiʻi, the Philippines and Fiji.

The festival will include intensive courses, workshops, performances and forums spread throughout the two week period. Festival goers will enjoy performances by the Ballet Philippines, Hālau I Ka Wēkiu, the Oceania Dance Theatre of the University of the South Pacific in Fiji and the Okinawan group Churasa.
