Norma Doctor Sparks

The University of Hawaiʻi Board of Regents re-elected Chair Jan Naoe Sullivan and Vice Chairs Randolph Moore and Benjamin Kudo at their meeting on July 20. Their term of office is one year.

The board also welcomed new regent Norma Doctor Sparks of Kauaʻi, who replaces outgoing regent David Iha. Regents Kudo (At Large) and Simeon Acoba (Honolulu) were both reappointed to five-year terms that expire in 2022.

Doctor Sparks is co-founder and president of Families First Hawaiʻi Service Inc., a consulting firm that advocates for children and families. In 2007, she was recognized as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the United States. She was born and raised on Kauaʻi, where she has served on a number of community boards.
