Steven Businger, will discuss the climate of Maunakea—past, present and future, including historic climate observations and simulations of future weather at the Maunakea Speaker Series on Tuesday, September 26, 7 p.m. at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Science and Technology Building (STB) Room #108.
Businger, professor and chair of the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at UH at Mānoa, will use output from a Global Climate Model to share high-resolution weather research forecasting simulations for the central Pacific to predict future weather and climate variability of the alpine and subalpine zones on Hawaiʻi Island.
The Maunakea Speaker Series is free and open to the public. On-campus parking is open and available without charge after 4 p.m.
