The Windward Community College Chancellor Search Advisory Committee has identified four finalists for the position of chancellor and has invited them to participate in a final round of interviews. The public is invited to meet the candidates on Friday, November 2, 2018, at open forums at Windward CC.

Candidates

Joseph Daisy
Daisy is president of the College of Micronesia-FSM. He also served at Cambridge College as executive vice president; vice president for college affairs and enrollment management; assistant vice president for policy, research and communications; and director of research and evaluation. Also, while at Cambridge College, Daisy was a senior faculty member in the School of Education’s Graduate Programs in Education, Leadership and Research; and was founding director of the doctor of education degree program. Daisy has more than 35 years of experience in higher education, both as an administrator and faculty member. He has served as associate director at the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc., providing a wide range of accreditation services to public secondary schools. He holds a doctorate in education from Nova Southeastern University, and master of education in educational administration and bachelor of arts in history from Suffolk University.

Evelyn Ellis
Ellis recently served as regional chancellor at Western Kentucky University Elizabethtown-Fort Knox in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She has served as chief of staff and education operations manager at the U.S. Department of Defense Dependents’ Schools in Seoul, South Korea. She was associate dean for academic support services at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. Ellis has served as dean of University College, interim director of admissions, University Honors Center director, U.S. Department of Education Title III project activity coordinator, and associate professor of education at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in Normal, Alabama. Ellis has more than 20 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member and an administrator. She holds a doctorate of education from the University of Southern California; master of education in elementary education from Drury University; master of education in educational administration and supervision and bachelor of science in secondary education from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Ardis Eschenberg
Eschenberg is currently vice chancellor for academic affairs at Windward CC. She previously served as vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of division I at Windward CC. Eschenberg was an instructor and academic dean at Nebraska Indian Community College, an institution that provides for the higher education needs of the Isanti and Umonhon nations. She has more than 20 years of experience in higher education as an administrator and instructor. Eschenberg holds a doctorate of philosophy in linguistics and master of arts in linguistics from the University at Buffalo, and bachelor’s of science in psychology and Russian from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dennis Hart
Hart serves as associate vice president and dean of PAGE College and Office of Global Engagement at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He previously served as executive director of the International Education Center at the University of St. Thomas. He was director of the Visiting International Professional Program at Michigan State University. He was both associate director and visiting professor in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh. Hart taught political science at Western Illinois University and Kent State University where he served as department head of the political science department and program coordinator of the Asian studies minor. He has more than 25 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member and administrator. Hart holds a doctorate of philosophy in comparative politics, master of arts in Korean studies, and bachelor of arts in East Asian studies, all from the University of Washington.
