A pair of University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo guards—Jordan Graves and Mandi Kawaha—helped the men’s and women’s basketball teams to a clean weekend sweep of Chaminade at Vulcan Gymnasium, February 20–21. They earned this week’s Pepsi Athletes of the Week award

Senior guard Graves helped UH Hilo “steal” a couple of basketball wins over Chaminade. His defense is always a key factor in Vulcan success, and on February 21 it was center stage. The 6-foot-3 guard had five steals in the first half of UH Hilo’s 71-67 win, and finished with six for the game, equaling his career high.

Junior guard Kawaha played a big role in a pair of Vulcan basketball wins against Chaminade. Kawaha had a near-triple double on February 20 with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during a 73-58 comeback victory. On February 21, she added 12 more points in a 53-46 win.
