The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa women’s golf team placed 15th at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate following Sunday’s final round at the Highlands Ranch Golf Club in Colorado.
The Rainbow Wahine carded their best round of the tournament with a 298 to finish at 902. Vanderbilt University captured the team title going away with a 839 total, 20 strokes over runner-up Xavier University (859) while University of New Mexico’s Napat Lertsadwattana and Tulane’s Carla Bernat shared medalist honors at 10-under 206.
UH’s top finisher was sophomore Mayumi Umezu who posted a final round 1-over 73 to finish at 1-over 217 for the tournament and a tie for 18th place.
Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine were Hyeonji Kang (225, t-57th), Wendy Song (229, 68th), Monica Johnson (239, t-84th) and Kralyn Salazar (241, 88th).
UH will next host the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, October 24-26 at Kapolei Golf Course.
