Favela batted .400 (6-for-15) with three RBI, a double, a triple and three runs scored over the Vulcans’ first five games as they opened the season at the Concordia Kickoff Classic. She collected 14 putouts, 12 assists and one double play.
Yamauchi had a strong start to his final season, helping the Vulcans take down Augustana College, four games to one. The Hilo-native batted 7-for-12 (.412) and launched his first career home run on opening night. The shortstop also collected 11 putouts and 18 assists (.967) with three double plays.
