“Nīnau in Hawaiian means question. As children we are constantly asking nīnau. As adults, we seek knowledge for answers only to find that we end up having more nīnau! I was also surprised that I did not already know this word as I feel this is a common kikino (noun).”

Johnessa Labrador-Lindsey, Student, Hawaiian 101, Hawaiʻi Community College
