The semi-finals for the 2023 NCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship will be on May 4.

The University of Hawaiʻi men’s volleyball team has its sights set on a third straight national title as they head to the 2023 NCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship in Fairfax, Virginia. There will be a strong contingent of fans on hand to cheer on the Rainbow Warriors.

The UH Office of Alumni Relations is hosting a series of events for UH alumni and supporters in a partnership with the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority. Alumni are invited to send the team off with aloha at the Fairfax Marriott before UH’s semi-final match Thursday, May 4 (7:30 p.m. EDT, 1:30 p.m. Hawaiʻi time) at the George Mason University EagleBank Arena. General Admission tickets for the game can be purchased online.

On Friday, May 5, there will be a Virginia UH Alumni Meet Up at P.J. Skidoos, a popular restaurant/bar in Fairfax. Although the event is sold out, interested alumni and friends can join a waitlist for the meet up on Eventbrite.

Assuming UH advances to the finals, there will be a second send-off for the ‘Bows at the Fairfax Marriott before they leave for the championship match on May 6 (5 p.m. EDT, 11 a.m. Hawaiʻi time).

“This is a great opportunity to support the Rainbow Warriors as they continue this amazing history-making run that all UH graduates and the entire state of Hawaiʻi can take pride in,” said UH President David Lassner who will be attending the events and matches. “It is also a great opportunity for UH alumni, who live on the continent, especially the east coast, to get together and celebrate their university.”

“These events are perfect when it comes to bringing the UH community together, no matter where they live in the nation,” added UH Alumni Association Treasurer Norman Nakasone. “It is an excellent way to re-connect, enjoy each other’s company and camaraderie and strengthen UH pride.”
