To support University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Athletics and the 2024 Vulcan Challenge, the Vulcan Booster Club has pledged to match up to $1,000 raised for each sports program, totaling up to $13,000 in matching gifts.
The Vulcan Booster Club is dedicated to supporting UH Hilo Athletics in achieving excellence within NCAA regulations and the university’s academic goals. They are committed to helping students’ intellectual, physical, and interpersonal growth while competing at the highest level of NCAA Division II athletics.
The third annual Vulcan Challenge launched on September 17, and has raised more than $18,000 from more than 100 gifts received in support of UH Hilo’s student-athletes. The campaign ends on October 17, and this yearʻs goal is $150,000.
“The Vulcan Booster Club is both proud and inspired to support the Vulcan Challenge through matching team contributions,” said Chris Schlueter, president of the Vulcan Booster Club. “Our Boosters are deeply committed to helping our student-athletes achieve their academic and athletic pursuits.”
KTA Super Stores and the Taniguchi family have also previously committed matching gifts for the first $25,000 received for the Vulcan Challenge.
