Leading the program is Reese Yap, a seasoned expert in Maui’s beauty industry. Born and raised on Oʻahu, Yap has spent 16 years building a successful career. She progressed from an apprentice to a licensed educator, business owner and mentor.

“I’m now ready to share the wisdom I’ve gained with the next generation,” said Yap. “I saw a need in our community— a desire for affordable, hands-on beauty education rooted in real opportunity. With the support of UH Maui College, we’ve created a program that is more than just training. It’s a chance to transform lives, empower futures, and grow a strong beauty community right here at home,” said Yap.
