A record number of alumni-owned businesses—about 40—will participate when the University of Hawaiʻi Alumni Makers’ Market returns to The Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikīkī on August 6, 6⏻9 p.m.
The event showcases food and drinks from alumni-owned or operated restaurants, along with a variety of products from
UH alumni small businesses.
“Pop Culture Artisan Pops always looks forward to Makers’ Market as a chance to connect with the UH alumni community and share our pops with guests who value supporting local businesses,” said Justin Udom (AS ’18, Kapiʻolani Community College), founder of Pop Culture Artisan Pops. “Makers’ Market is an important community event that not only showcases the entrepreneurial spirit of UH alumni but uplifts small businesses rooted in Hawaiʻi.”
Admission is available online and includes unlimited access to food and drink stations, and the opportunity to purchase merchandise.
“We’re thrilled to see the UH Alumni Makers’ Market continue to grow in its fourth year,” said Maile Au (MBA ‘06, UH Mānoa), associate vice president of alumni and community engagement at UH Foundation. “It’s a celebration of our alumni, their creativity and the impact they’re making on Hawaiʻi’s economy and communities. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back.”
Presented by the UH Office of Alumni Relations in partnership with the UH Alumni Association, a portion of the proceeds will go toward addressing current UH student needs statewide.
