This year’s University of Hawaiʻi foodbank drive raised $42,183 in monetary donations and 4,652 pounds of food for 2025. According to the Hawaiʻi Foodbank, the university’s contribution equals nearly 95,000 meals that the Hawaiʻi Foodbank is able to provide.
“Once again, our UH ʻohana demonstrated their generosity and concern for their community,” said UH President Wendy Hensel. “Every donation makes a difference, and I am proud to be a part of such a caring and compassionate community.”
The issue of hunger continues to be a major challenge facing the community, affecting those most vulnerable, and the impact of contributions to the Hawaiʻi Foodbank will not go unnoticed by those in need within the community.
The Hawaiʻi Foodbank campaign during the spring semester is one of two annual fundraisers approved for State of Hawaiʻi offices. The Aloha United Way fundraiser takes place during the fall semester.
