Three former University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa baseball players, Matthew Miura, Itsuki Takemoto and Freddy Rodriquez, were selected in the 2025 MLB Draft, marking the program’s biggest draft class since 2015.

Miura, a second-team All-Big West pick, was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the sixth round, and became the highest UH Mānoa draft selection since 2020. He started 107 games in center field over the past two seasons, hitting .311 for his career.

Takemoto, a two-way All-Big West standout, was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 19th round, and Rodriguez, who finished his season at UH Mānoa with 52 strikeouts, was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 20th round.

The three Rainbow Warriors represent the most UH Mānoa baseball players drafted in a single year since MLB shortened the draft to 20 rounds.
