The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Athletics Department unveiled a new campaign, ‘Our Team. Hawaiʻi’s Team.’ aimed at rallying student-athletes, fans, alumni and supporters through shared pride and support for the Rainbow Warrior and Rainbow Wahine teams. The campaign highlights the connection UH fans have with their UH teams, on and off the field.

“Our goal is to excite and inspire the UH fanbase by bringing them together in pride and partnership around our athletic programs,” said UH Mānoa Athletics Director Matt Elliott. “At the heart of this campaign is our common passion, made real through action.”

The campaign was launched on social media with an inspiring video and Elliott introduced the campaign motto in a July 22 message to UH sports fans when he commended student-athletes for their hard work and dedication over the summer months:

“Student-athletes are here every day, often before 6 a.m., honing their craft and striving to get better. Coaches, athletic performance, sports medicine, communications personnel and others are on the field, in the weight room and behind the scenes to support their growth. At the same time, basketball and volleyball students are grinding, putting up shots, perfecting serves and getting ready. Countless other students are also training, competing and striving for excellence all around the planet. The life of a student-athlete, coach and staff member is to constantly prepare and improve to best represent UH. Collectively, they are OUR TEAM. HAWAIʻI‘S TEAM.”

He also encouraged fans to get involved in different ways, from attending games to engaging with student-athletes through NIL opportunities. The ‘Our Team. Hawaiʻi’s Team.’ campaign officially debuts with a “whiteout” T-shirt giveaway at the Rainbow Warrior football home opener vs. Stanford on Saturday, August 23. There will also be updated merchandise including Nike apparel, a statewide tour, new fundraiser initiative and more.

“I believe our fans will not only rally around the motto, but truly embrace the message behind it, that we’re all in this together,” Elliott said. “When we show up and stand proud with our teams, we become more than supporters, we become part of something bigger than ourselves.”
