WEATHER ALERT – UH CAMPUSES CLOSED ON FEB. 9 AND WILL REOPEN FEB. 10

All University of Hawaiʻi campuses are closed Monday, February 9, due to dangerous weather conditions, including high winds statewide. All in-person and online classes are canceled. Employees should check with supervisors for reporting guidance. Campus will reopen and resume operations on Tuesday, February 10. A program-record six University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa men’s golfers were named to the 2024–25 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars list.

UH golfers awarded:

  • Anson Cabello
  • Josh Hayashida
  • Tyler Ogawa
  • Garrett Takeuchi
  • Dane Watanabe
  • James Whitworth

To be eligible for a nomination, an individual must be at least a sophomore in standing both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

The six honorees tied fellow Division I schools College of Charleston, Georgia Southern and Mississippi State for the most recipients across all six divisions.

Five of the six—Cabello, Hayashida, Ogawa, Watanabe and Whitworth—were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, while all six were named to the Big West’s Academic All-Conference team.
