University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa football placekicker Kansei Matsuzawa has been named the Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season, following his performance in UH’s 23-3 win over Portland State.

Matsuzawa went 3–for–3 on field goals, including career-long kicks from 44 and 47 yards. He also added a 35–yarder in the fourth quarter, tying his career high with three made field goals in a single game.

Nicknamed the “Tokyo Toe,” Matsuzawa is in the midst of a standout season, converting all 11 field goal attempts and all eight extra points. He also ranks third nationally in scoring with 41 points.

Matsuzawa earned his first Mountain West weekly honor in Week 0 after kicking the game-winner in Hawaiʻi’s season-opening victory over Stanford.
