Mountain West Player of the Week graphic

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa quarterback Micah Alejado was named the Mountain West’s Freshman of the Week after leading the Rainbow Warriors to a 31-19 victory over Colorado State on October 18.

Alejado threw for 301 yards on 26-of-38 passing and three touchdowns. He had more than 300 yards passing and three touchdowns for the third straight game, becoming the only Football Bowl Subdivision quarterback to do so this season.

He earned his fourth freshman of the week award this season and fifth of his career. The redshirt freshman helped the ʻBows become bowl eligible for the first time since 2019 and extend their season win streak to three.

UH Mānoa is also off to its best start through eight games since 2018. The Rainbow Warriors are on a bye week and return to action at San José State on November 1.
