
University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo women’s volleyball sophomores Malu Garcia and Isabella Freeman earned postseason recognition with All-Conference and All-Region honors following breakout 2024 campaigns.
Garcia, a right-side hitter, was voted to the All-PacWest First Team and named the league’s Newcomer of the Year in her first season with the Vulcans after transferring from Iowa. She also earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Honorable Mention status and a spot on the AVCA West All-Region First Team.
Garcia ranked No. 4 in total kills (375) and No. 8 in points per set (4.22) in the West Region. She also added a strong defensive presence with 90 total blocks.
Middle blocker Isabella Freeman also secured All-PacWest First Team honors and was voted to the DII Conference Commissioners Association All-West Region First Team after emerging as one of the division’s best blockers. She led the entire West Region with 144 total blocks and ranked second in blocks per set (1.35) while hitting .288. Nationally, Freeman finished No. 7 in total blocks and No. 11 in blocks per set across NCAA Division II.
