The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Rainbow Wahine beach volleyball team earned multiple honors in the Big West Conference’s postseason awards, highlighted by freshman Kiera Cornman being named Big West Freshman of the Year.
Cornman became the program’s sixth player to receive the award and the first since 2021. In addition to the top freshman honor, she was selected to the All-Big West second team and the all-freshman team after posting a 19-11 record in her debut season.
Leading the way for the Rainbow Wahine, Julia Lawrenz and Izadora Stedile were named to the All-Big West first team following an impressive campaign as the team’s top pair. The duo compiled a 23-8 overall record, including a 21-7 mark at the No. 1 rank against many of the nation’s top-ranked opponents.
Emily Heintzelman and Sydney Miller also received recognition, earning honorable mention honors. Heintzelman, a graduate transfer, finished 20-8 on the year, while Miller picked up her third career All-Big West honor after recording 20 wins across multiple pairings.
Under first-year head coach Danny Alvarez, the Rainbow Wahine concluded the season with a 19-14 record.
